Who I am
Backend engineer with ten years across robotics research, analytics platforms and LLM tooling. I have represented my department on the company's AI Governance Commission since it was set up, working on safety standards and company AI policy, and I have run Claude training for over a hundred colleagues across departments. In my department I build agentic workflows, shared skills that speed up delivery, and a linked code and documentation system so agents load less context. I have also been part of a maker association for over a decade.

- Built MCP servers for the company's existing analytics tools.
- Set up agentic workflows and shared skills that standardize development and cut delivery time, plus a linked code and documentation system so agents load less context.
Redegal
Backend Engineer
Main backend engineer of Redegal's data-driven marketing and analytics tools Binnacle and Boostic, and of the backend of the ATaquilla CMS.
Details
- Designed and built Binnacle and Boostic from scratch to production in one year, then kept adding features: dynamic dashboard generation from the backend and LLM integration for data analysis and report generation.
- The tools are used by Redegal's own marketing team and by external clients.
- Mentored new backend team members and reviewed their code.
- Coordinated with the Data Science and Frontend teams, introducing a shared documentation system and the protocols to use it.
- Designed and built the ATaquilla CMS backend from scratch to production within the agreed timeframe, working with the client's software, marketing and operations teams.

- Studied perception systems in cognitive robotics as part of the doctoral studies (unfinished thesis).
- Developed an intelligent tutoring system on a Unity3D robotics simulator to improve robotics learning with the Robobo platform.
- Developed a Python library for easy access to HomeAssistant home automation systems, to teach ambient intelligence in classrooms.
- Co-supervised two final degree projects and a Master's thesis in educational robotics and computer vision.
- Wrote tools for other researchers in the group and collaborated on scientific publications.
Projects
UDC – Navantia Joint Research Unit
Researcher
Prototype that uses genetic algorithms to redesign the closing pipes of ships under construction.
Details
- Designed and implemented a prototype to improve the fitting and adjustment of pipes in ships under construction.
- Used genetic algorithms (Python) to redesign the pipe layouts that, because of real-world assembly deviations, did not meet fitting tolerances.
- Worked with the pipe workshop and metrology lab engineers; combined with 3D scanners, the prototype shortened measurement and design times and prevented errors.

About
I started in educational robotics: my final degree project became my first job at a university spin-off, and then a PhD position in a research group. It was a multidisciplinary project, and it taught me to pick up new technologies quickly, from Android and iOS to computer vision and simulators.
During my time at the university I also took part in several research projects, most notably the "Tubos de cierre" line of the Unidad Mixta de Investigación in collaboration with Navantia. In this project we designed and implemented a prototype that solved the problem of pipe fitting in ships under construction, using genetic algorithms to redesign the layout of the pipes.
In 2022 I moved from the university to the R&D department of a digital marketing company. There I have designed and built the backend of two marketing analytics tools, Binnacle and Boostic, starting almost from scratch: a Python REST API secured with OAuth and JWT, caching and asynchronous tasks with Redis, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse as the data warehouse, and Docker deployments. I have also integrated LLMs and agents for data analysis and report generation, as fixed pipelines that produce analyses and reports rather than as a chatbot.
In parallel, I worked on the design and development of the new CMS backend of ATaquilla, a ticket office for events.
Outside work, I have been part of a maker association for over ten years, four of them as its president. I play guitar, bass and piano, and I am learning drums.
Robotics research, shipyard metrology, analytics backends and now applied AI: each change of field meant learning a new domain quickly, and that range is what I bring to a team. I am comfortable moving across the stack and between disciplines, and I like problems that come from the real world.
